Overview

This function is applicable to upgrading using bin files. Bin file upgrade is generally applicable to two situations: one is the upgrade of customized functions, and the other is that customers want to use the old version of firmware.

Note: when using bin file to upgrade, you need to communicate with our technicians before upgrading. Our company is not responsible for the consequences of private upgrading.

Operation

Step1: Scan the barcode to put the scanner into upgrade mode, and you will find that the green light and blue light are both flashing.

Step2: Install the APP ”DFU Tools” ,and start the APP, Click the icon, enter Bluetooth pair

Step3: Click the “GO TURN ON” button to turn on the phone’s Bluetooth, then click the "GO SELECT" to choose the scanner that need to upgrade.

Step4: After input the PN Number “1234”, then click the “ok”, the Bluetooth connection will build.

Step5: Click the button to select the location of the new firmware that you want to upgrade.

Step6: Click the desired firmware and click OK on the dialog box.

Step7: Click the “OK”, exit the upgrade.

Overview

This file is used to introduce how to use OTA that is new version to upgrade firmware.

Download

The APP that is mentioned in this file, can search “Generalscan OTA Tools” in Google play. Choose the program in red box to download and install.

Operation

Step1: Scan “Default Factory Setting” , after scanning, the blue indicator light will be in quickly flashing status.

Step2: Scan the barcode of Enter DFU Mode, this moment the blue and green indicator flash alternately.

Step3: Open Generalscan OTA Tools APP on the mobile phone.

Step4: Click the Bluetooth icon on the right upper corner.

Step5: Click ”GO TURN ON” to open Bluetooth, and then click ”Allow”

Step6: Click "GO SELECT".

Step7: Choose the scanner that need to upgrade firmware.

Step8: Enter upgrade page. In this page, customer can know the related product’s information.

Device Model，Device Name，Bluetooth Address，Firmware Version， Bootloader Version.

In this page, customer can choose regular product upgrades of product or customized firmware upgrades according to need.

Regular upgrade：

Customer can click CHECK UPDATE to upgrade directly, if there is firmware update, the software will prompt whether upgrade.

Choose UPDATE, product starts to upgrade.

After upgrading, it will prompt upgrade successfully, click OK to finish upgrading.

Customized firmware upgrades：

We will supply the 2D barcode of the customized firmware, please use the scan function on the right upper corner of software to scan the barcode. After scanning, the prompt of upgrade firmware will show.

Choose UPDATE, product starts to upgrade.

After upgrading, it will prompt upgrade successfully, click OK to finish.

This function is used for on-line detection of the latest firmware and on-line firmware upgrade of products.

Operation

Step1: Scan the barcode to put the scanner into upgrade mode, and you will find that the green light and blue light are both flashing.

Step2: Install the APP "DFU Tools" ,and start the APP, Click the Bluetooth icon, enter Bluetooth pair

Step3: Click the "GO TURN ON" button to turn on the phone’s Bluetooth, then click the "GO SELECT" to choose the scanner that need to upgrade.

Step4: After input the PN Number "1234", then click the "ok", the Bluetooth connection will build.

Step 5: Click the "CHECK UPDATE" button to check if there is a new firmware can be used to update. You can see the current version information of the firmware after the Bluetooth connection.

Step6: If you need to update the firmware, please click the "UPDATE" button. Then the update process will start. Do not interrupt the update process.

Step7: Click the "OK", exit the update. After the update process, the scanner will shut down.
